Our Stud
Our Stud Farm history goes back to the 2nd Earl of Sobral, D. Luis de Mello Breyner (1807-1876), who dedicates to horse breeding resulted in several awards inside and outside of Portugal. However the 3rd Earl of Sobral, D. Hermano José Amalric Braamcamp de Mello Breyner (1840-1905) who developed and increased the number of animals and was one of the founders of the Turf Club - Society for Promoting Horse Breeding.
In the early 20th century D. Manuel Braamcamp Sobral daughter, Sophia and later his sons continued this family tradition. The Casal Branco Horses have today a prominent place in teaching, bullfighting and sports.
Great names have acquired some of our Lusitanians horses such as Pablo Hermozo de Mendonza, Alvaro Domecq and João Ribeiro Telles, Luis Valença Rodrigues and Nuno Oliveira (Teaching Masters), George Bowman (English Champion of Trailer) and Catherine Durand (Dréssage ).
